We are Catlin Design, an interior design team including certified, highly trained, and experienced designers proficient in all aspects of the interior design process. We are a design family and undoubtedly a team in everything that we do.

Juliana Catlin, FASID, NCIDQ

Principal

Juli received her Bachelor of Design degree from the University of Florida, College of Architecture and is NCIDQ Certified. As Principal of Catlin Design, Inc., she has won numerous awards. She was honored with the Alumni of Distinction Award from the University of Florida, College of Design, Construction, and Planning in 1999 and is current chair of their Advisory Board. Catlin was honored with the Bud Merle Foundation Award in 2000 and the Warren G. Arnett Achievement Award in 2004. These awards recognize leadership and Design Excellence in the State of Florida.She has been an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) since the start of her career and was chosen to be a Fellow Member. Catlin served as National President of ASID, representing over 38,000 Interior Designers around the nation. She is also an active public speaker on Interior Design issues around the nation.

Catlin is the inaugural chairman of the ASID Foundation, Inc. and helped formed the ASID Foundation Board. The ASID Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to (among other activities) enhancing the field of interior design by funding innovative and imaginative research and education initiatives, providing scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance to deserving students, and making grants to colleges and universities maintaining a regular course of study in the field of interior design.

Catlin Design has guided many clients through the design process in both commercial and residential design, with projects throughout the United States as well as abroad. The firm has been voted #1 Design Firm in Jacksonville Magazine and the Jacksonville Business Journal. The firm has also been published in Interior Design Magazine, Southern Living, and Florida Design as well as being featured on the HGTV Channel.

Cathy Brinton

Project Coordinator 

Cathy has been involved in the design community and at Catlin Design as a Project Coordinator and Buyer for the past 21 years. She is a vital team member who coordinates multiple aspects of our projects. Cathy has been highly involved in many community groups in Jacksonville throughout the years. She has served as Past President of the Women's Board at Wolfson's Children Hospital, as well as a past Antique Show and Florida Forum Chair for Wolfson's Children's Hospital.

Julia Baker Kerns

Design Associate

Julia attended the University of Virginia receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Art History. Following graduation, she returned home to Ponte Vedra Beach and joined the Catlin Design team as an intern learning the intricacies of the interior design field. Julia later continued her studies at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City where she fostered her love of art and antiques, gaining a Master’s in Fine and Decorative Art and Design. Her studies spanned a range of subjects, strengthening her knowledge of antiques as well as the art and decorative object market. Julia has a love for beautiful things and is passionate about utilizing both old and new objects to create a highly unique and personal space. She is excited to be back in the Jacksonville area and now brings her knowledge and love of fine and decorative art to her position as a Design Associate at Catlin.

Janine Black

Accounts Manager

Janine has worked with Catlin Design for 18 years as our Accounts Manager and a Business Administrator. Her proficient project coordination, accounting, and business administration skills are vital to the company and to our clients.

Meg Boot

Office Assistant

Meg's family settled here in Jacksonville when she was just 15 years old. A few years later she left the Bold City to pursue her college career at Hollins University in Virginia. After graduation, she came back to the place she felt to be home and dedicated 15 years to non-profit agencies providing administrative and case management services.

 

Meg joined the Catlin team part-time as an office assistant and we feel blessed having her here. When she is not in the office, you will find her doing volunteer work or traveling with her husband.
